Leader of net piracy gang jailed

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/6237610.stm

This is interesting. A Briton who operated a net piracy gang out of his Australian home is jailed in the US for 51 months. What a borderless world we are living in right now.

Opposition to baloney does not equal opposition to reconsideration

I read this article this morning:

http://www.globalvoicesonline.org/2007/05/23/china-splitting-hairs-over-stem-cells/

It's about two key Chinese public intellectuals—one a tv news personality and the other a crusader against intellectual fraud and traditional Chinese medicine—battle on stem cell research on their PhoenixTV blogs.

Being not a scientist nor am I an expert in any area, I've found the debate very inspiring. It makes me think about how we. as a layman, can be easily misled by unverified hearsay/report. The lesson learned is not to jump into conclusion without having a good understanding of the subject.

Are we spending adequate time listening to what the youth are expressing now, I wonder...

Judging the Youth by appearance
Related to country: Japan

I read this article about generation gap between Japanese youth and adult is closing and one should not judge another simply by appearance. Admittedly, not judging someone by appearance is not easy but it's indeed worth the effort.
